Wały Chrobrego It is worth starting sightseeing of Szczecin from Wały Chrobrego. It is a real pride and a showpiece of the city. It is included in the register of monuments for a reason. It is worth coming here twice: during the day and in the late evening. In the moonlight, the port and the river look beautiful. What are Wały Chrobrego? It is an amazing observation deck with a length of about 500 meters, located on a slope along the Odra River. In the southern part of Wały, we have a complex of historic buildings of the Maritime Academy, the building of the Contemporary Theater and the Maritime Department of the National Museum. The embankment created along the Odra River serves not only for admiring the vast panorama of the Oder and the port, but also walking. Underground tourist routes Underground tourist routes are a real treat for people visiting Szczecin. We can find them near the Szczecin Główny Railway Station. We can choose from two thematic sightseeing routes: World War II, which presents the reconstruction of life in the shelter during air raids on the city and the first post-war years, and the Cold War, which presents the history of the shelter during the Cold War. While visiting this route, you can see, among others warehouse with OC equipment - masks, coats, contamination detection devices. Old Town - Old Town The Old Town is considered to be the main point of Szczecin, and at the same time the main element of the City Tourist Route. It is here that the most tourist attractions are located and the most cultural and entertainment events take place. While in the city, you cannot miss it. The most important monuments of the Old Town include: the Old Town Hall, the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle, the Royal Gate, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Jakub, the Fountain with the eagle, the Tower of Seven Coats and the Palace of the Sejm of the Pomeranian States. The Fabulous Rose Garden Różanka is another tourist attraction that should not be missed. The garden is located on the edge of the Kasprowicz Park and houses nearly 10,000 roses, as well as exotic trees and shrubs. Of course, it's best to come here in the summer season, when everything is blooming beautifully. A feast for the spirit - museums Szczecin's museums are as impressive as the city's architectural monuments. It is worth starting sightseeing at the National Museum - the city's greatest pride when it comes to museums. We can find them at Wały Chrobrego. The seat of the National Museum is an eclectic edifice built in 1908-1913. The National Museum takes care of over 150,000. objects, including works of ancient and modern art, as well as archaeological and ethnographic monuments and valuable numismatic items. An interesting place is also the Przełomy Dialogue Center. The museum has won two prestigious titles - the best building in the world and the best building of culture in the world 2016.
