For nature and history lovers Nature lovers are eager to venture into ... the Beech Forest. It is a place near Szczecin, where one of the oldest, but also the most beautiful dendrological gardens in the country is located in Glinna. It has been growing and carefully tended for almost 200 years, and is known for its powerful mammoth trees, fir trees, cypresses and other plant species. You can also go to the Moon Grove, a forest with hundred-year-old pine trees. Follow the directions for Nowe Czarnowo. Local guides also recommend Kołbacz, especially to those who are close to historical monuments. The Cistercian abbey is one of the most important monuments in these areas. However, there are also historical buildings in Stargard Szczeciński. The city proudly recommends tourists to visit the gothic tenement houses and the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which was built in the 13th century. The city walls are decorated with beautiful gates. There is also Moryń with a Romanesque basilica, Chojna and Cedynia with Gothic monuments. Cedynia is primarily known for the church from the 13th century and the ruins of the Cistercian abbey. On the Czcibor Mountain in Cedynia, you can see the monument of the Polish Victory on the Oder, which commemorates the battle fought in this place during the times of Mieszko I.

Folwark Skarbimierz also makes an amazing impression on visitors. It is a place that is only 10 km from the city center. The local buildings were renovated a few years ago, and guests have at their disposal a farm, a stable, a stud farm and a bar. It is a great place for the whole family, because apart from horses, there are also ponies, donkeys, alpacas, sheep, and even a raccoon and coypu.
More than 30 km from Gryfino there is Krzywy Las near the Dolna Odra power plant. There are several hundred bizarrely bent trees here, creating an interesting picture. It is a great place for walks and you can often see young couples taking pictures of each other. Interestingly, such trees were created due to human activity. They were cut to size so that they could be used to build sleighs or boats.
Rest by the water Many visitors expect water from Szczecin and rest on the beach. However, the vicinity of Szczecin is also a great place for sailors and ... fishermen. The Szczecin Lagoon is perhaps the richest fishery in our country. Anglers catch species of carp fish here, but also perch, zander, pike and salmon. And although, as in all waters of our country, catching a large specimen may take some time, many anglers still try their luck.
It is also an important place for bird lovers. It is here that the routes of their travels intersect. At the Szczecin Lagoon you can observe terns, gulls and lapwings, geese and cranes, cormorants and grebes. Often you can also see white-tailed eagles. The Szczecin Lagoon, especially in the vicinity of Czarnocin, is quite shallow, so beginner fans of windsurfing and kitesurfing are eager to train here. The network of ports and marinas is also a motivation for sailors to practice this sport right here.
